Buccaneers vs. Cowboys predictions and live updates: NFL “Sunday Night Football” as you watch it, inactive and current

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush will make his 13th NFL start tonight. And despite spending the majority of his eight-year career as Dak Prescott’s backup, Rush is nothing new to starting in prime time. Almost half of his starts took place in this situation.

His first career start came in 2021 on Sunday Night Football in Minnesota, a 20-16 win for the Cowboys. He then went 1-1 in prime time in 2022, winning on Monday Night Football at the New York Giants but losing at Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football.

Rush has started two Monday Night Football games this season, both losses at AT&T Stadium, Week 11 against the Texans and Week 14 against the Bengals.

“I’m kind of used to the schedule of these late-night games,” Rush said this week. “It helps to be here for a while. My brother and I actually joke that for some reason I have a ridiculous number of primetime starts, considering how many starts I have. The relationship is kind of funny. It’s just how the chips fall when you’re in that place. But it’s fun. (Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy) is giving us a great schedule as players to prepare for this.”

Rush, an undrafted free agent who signed with the Cowboys in 2017, is 3-3 as a starter this season and 8-4 in his career.
