Is CeeDee Lamb playing today? Update on injury news for the Cowboys wide receiver

The Dallas Cowboys return to action on Sunday night hoping they have something to play for. After winning its third game in four tries last week, Dallas has moved closer to .500 and is looking to improve to 7-8 with a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The struggling, weakened team currently has a chance to make the playoffs, but that ends with a loss in the final three games or a win for Washington. The Commanders will begin games against NFC East leader Philadelphia. If the Eagles win, the Cowboys’ play still means something to this pursuit.

To secure a victory in the NBC-aired contest, Dallas needs its No. 1 receiver, CeeDee Lamb.

Luckily for Dallas, Lamb’s limited status from Wednesday’s practice appears to be precautionary due to his lingering shoulder injury. Lamb was at full strength on Thursday and work on Friday confirms that things have not worsened and the illness does not appear to be stopping him from keeping fit. He should play as long as nothing unusual happens during the pre-game warm-up.

The fifth-year wideout enters Week 16 tied for third in the NFL with 94 receptions and is already surpassing the millennium yard mark with 1,089. Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase has already secured Lamb’s 2023 yardage crown, with Dak Prescott just missing from the Cowboys’ passing game for most of the season. Perhaps Lamb will catch passes from Cooper Rush and Trey Lance in this contest.
