Notes and Stats: Giants vs. Falcons Summary

*Wan’Dale Robinson also had seven catches, increasing his season total to 78. His previous career high of 60 came last year.

*Tyrone Tracy didn’t have a great day with the ball, gaining just 26 yards on seven carries. But he scored the Giants’ only touchdown, giving them a 7-3 lead on a 2-yard pass from Drew Lock just seven seconds into the second quarter.

The result was Tracy’s first career touchdown reception. It was also the Giants’ first running back of the season and first since November 19, 2023, when Saquon Barkley had two touchdown catches against Washington.

*Tracy, who also has four rushing touchdowns, ties Nabers for the team lead with five.

*Tracy increased his season rushing total to 721 yards. He passed Eddie Price (703 yards in 1950) and tied with Andre Williams for fourth place on the Giants’ rookie rushing list. Ron Dayne is third with 770 yards in 2000.

*In his third start of the season, Lock completed 22 of 39 passes for 210 yards, the touchdown to Tracy and two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns.

*Lock is the first Giants quarterback to throw multiple pick-sixes in a game since Eli Manning on November 25, 2007 against Minnesota. Three Manning passes were returned for touchdowns by Vikings defenders Darren Sharper, Dwight Smith and Chad Greenway in Minnesota’s 41-17 win. No other Giants opponent had scored multiple interception-return touchdowns in a game before the Falcons on Sunday.

*Bates and Judon’s scores were their fifth and sixth non-offensive touchdowns and third and fourth interception touchdowns against the Giants this season. With the six return touchdowns, the Giants are tied with Tennessee for the most touchdowns allowed in the NFL this season.

Minnesota’s Andrew Van Ginkel scored on a 10-yard interception return, and Dallas’ DeMarvion Overshown intercepted a lock pass and ran it back 23 yards on Thanksgiving Day. Seattle’s Rayshawn Jenkins floated the ball in his hands after an Eric Gray fumble and returned it 102 yards for a touchdown on Oct. 6. Finally, on October 28, Pittsburgh’s Calvin Austin III returned a punt 73 yards for a score.

*Lock also fumbled. It was only the second time this season that the Giants recorded a total of three turnovers (also against Carolina on November 10th).

*The Giants did not release Falcons rookie quarterback Michael Penix, Jr., who was making his first career start. It was the fourth time in the last seven games that the Giants didn’t record a sack.

*The Giants, who lost 35-14 to Baltimore last week, have 30 consecutive points for the first time since Nov. 5 (30-6 loss in Las Vegas) and Nov. 12 (49-17 in Dallas). Play allowed. , 2023.

*Darius Slayton caught a pass for 21 yards and gained six yards on an inside handoff. It was his fifth career rushing attempt and second of the season. He had a career-long 11-yard run against Washington on November 3rd.

*Flott was one of several Giants who returned to action after taking time out due to injury. The group included defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches (one tackle), cornerback Tae Banks (two stops, two passes defensed) and rookie Dru Phillips (six tackles, four solo).

*Rookie linebacker Darius Muasau led the Giants with 11 tackles (four solo).

*Linebacker Micah McFadden, the team’s leader in tackles this season, left the game in the second quarter with a neck injury.

*With Jon Runyan, Jr. on injured reserve (ankle) and Aaron Stinnie in the NFL concussion protocol, undrafted rookie Jake Kubas was the Giants’ starting left guard.

*The Giants’ inactive players were cornerbacks Greg Stroman, Dee Williams and Divaad Wilson, guard Aaron Stinnie, defensive lineman Casey Rogers and Tim Boyle (third quarterback).
