The Giants are in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 draft pick after the Raiders’ win

The Giants got an early Christmas present this year: a Raiders win.

The Raiders defeated the Jaguars 19-14, helping the Giants retain the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft as the two teams engaged in a dogfight for the top pick.

The Giants clinched the spot on Sunday afternoon after suffering a 34-7 loss to the Falcons in Atlanta.

Ameer Abdullah scored the game-winning touchdown for the Raiders on a 7-yard rush with 11:26 left in the fourth quarter and Las Vegas trailing by one.

The win means the Giants are in control of their own destiny when it comes to April’s draft spot.

The loss to Atlanta and the win in Vegas means they are the only two-win team remaining in the NFL heading into the final two weeks of the season.

It’s no secret that the Giants need quarterback the most after parting ways with Daniel Jones earlier this season.

Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado star Shedeur Sanders are expected to be two of the top QBs available in this year’s draft class.

If the Giants snag the first pick, it would be the first time since 1965 that the franchise has owned the first pick in the draft.

As long as the Giants lose their final two games of the season, they are guaranteed the No. 1 overall pick.

The win for the Raiders landed them at No. 6 overall in the draft, according to Tankathon.

The Patriots are in second place, followed by the Jaguars, Titans and Browns.

Things could get dire for the Giants if they win one of their final two games, and depending on the tiebreaker scenario with the other five three-win teams, there’s a chance they could drop to No. 7 overall.
