DJ Humphries is among the players sitting out Week 13

Anyone who wants to take a first look at the Kansas City Chiefs’ newest roster addition will have to be patient. Just because the Chiefs went shopping around Black Friday doesn’t mean they’re ready to open DJ Humphries’ gift.

The Chiefs officially signed Humphries to a one-year contract last week to bolster play at the left tackle position and add more security to the most uncertain position at the top. Given his recent arrival and his need to learn a little more about the organization, the Chiefs may be hesitant to bring him in so soon, despite his wealth of experience.

That means the Chiefs will roll with Wanya Morris as the starting left tackle at the helm for another week for now. Along with right tackle Jawaan Taylor, the Raiders’ pass rush will likely put KC in the lead, with talents like Maxx Crosby doing their best to salvage meaning from another lost season.

Behind Morris is rookie tackle Kingsley Suamataia, the Chiefs’ second-round pick, as rookie free agent Ethan Driskell is also inactive Friday.

For the Chiefs’ Week 13 game against the visiting Raiders, the Black Friday broadcast schedule created a bit of a conundrum regarding injuries and player availability for both teams. For the Chiefs, the short week meant holding out of Running back Isiah Pacheco and pass rusher Charles Omenihu narrowly won against Carolina a week ago. Luckily, they play the Raiders on Friday.

Here’s a look at the complete lists of inactive players
