A video showing the most horrific events in the history of the New York subway has gone viral on social media. On Sunday morning, a man set fire to a sleeping passenger on an F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue stop. The women died as a result of the attack, shocking both officials and commuters.

A Guatemalan immigrant arrested for the alleged crime was captured calmly as he watched the victim charred, shocking other passengers on the train. The suspect, Sebastian Zapeta, 33, came to the United States in 2018.

NYPD commissioner holds press conference

During the press conference, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch called the incident “one of the worst crimes a human being could ever commit.”

“As the train pulled into the station, the suspect calmly walked towards the victim who was sitting at the end of a subway car… and used, we suspect, a lighter to set fire to the victim’s clothing, which burned completely. “devoured within seconds,” Tisch told the New York Post.

According to the commissioner, patrolling police officers spotted the smoke and followed it to the woman engulfed in flames. She died at the scene, although officials managed to put out the fire.

The suspect watched calmly as the woman burned

In the horrifying video, the perpetrator can be seen quietly watching the woman burn to death in the open door of the subway car. As smoke billowed from the subway car, officers shouted to the crowd, asking, “Did anyone see anything?” Did anyone see anything?”

The suspect was seen sitting on a nearby bench during the commotion while police officers stood close together. One of them approached the hooded victim and said, “Do me a favor? Go down there. I have to clear this room.”

The man got up from the bench and fled from the police.

Tisch explained: “Unbeknownst to the officers who responded, the suspect remained at the scene and was sitting on a bench on the platform directly in front of the train car.”

“The responding officers’ body-worn cameras provided a very clear and detailed view of the killer,” the NYDP commissioner added.

The video has now been viewed over 1.2 million times

“Evil,” one user wrote, referring to the suspect.

“Immigration status?” asked another.

“Why does someone just watch and someone just film? Seriously, no one is trying to help? What?” A third user expressed concerns, while the fourth said: “These people need to be in jail.”
