Dungeon of Doom: The Detroit Lions take care of business with a well-rounded attack

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Detroit Lions got back on track after last week’s loss to the Buffalo Bills and restored order with a crushing victory over the Chicago Bears.

MLive’s Dungeon of Doom podcast was in-house for Detroit’s 34-17 win over the Bears. Hosts Ben Raven and Kory Woods discuss the lineup changes, Jahmyr Gibbs’ impressive performance as the lone primary defender, and what they liked about the defensive performance, even if there were a few bumps in the road.

The Lions are 13-2, setting a new franchise record for wins in a season, with two games remaining. Additionally, the win also saw them break the 2011 team record of 274 points, another impressive milestone at this point in the season.

“I was proud of our boys for getting back on their feet. I knew they would. Right attitude,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said. “Look, it takes a special group of guys to bounce back emotionally, physically and mentally after a tough loss, especially when you haven’t lost for a while, go out and win again on the road. I told the guys I knew that was a team record, a franchise record. There’s never been 13 wins and I told them that one day we’ll be able to look back and enjoy it, but not yet. It’s not the right time.

“We have a lot of work to do next week, San Francisco on the road, very good team. But to date we have done what we had to do. Got two takeaways and turned them into 10 points. Got up early and was able to really control the game. I thought we played the game right. I thought we played it right. It was a good job.”
