Hugh Jackman’s two children are reportedly feeling guilty about welcoming his rumored new girlfriend Sutton Foster into their family.

A year after the actor split from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, the couple’s children, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19, are getting used to splitting time between their famous Australian parents.

They also find it difficult to deal with their father’s new flame.

“It’s been hard for the children to welcome Sutton into their father’s world with their own mixed emotions while also feeling guilty about getting too close,” a source told Woman’s Day.

“It’s all going to be a bit chaotic, but Hugh hopes time will heal all wounds. So if they get through the holidays without any major problems, they will be in calmer waters in the new year.”

Hugh, 56, is currently spending the holidays in Australia with his son Oscar and daughter Ava. It’s unclear whether her mother Deb will also return Down Under for Christmas.

The trio, who live in New York, are likely to stay at their stunning $12 million penthouse in North Bondi.

While Hugh enjoys an Australian Christmas with his children, Sutton is back in Los Angeles performing in the stage production of Once Upon A Mattress.

Hugh and Sutton’s romance reportedly continues to blossom away from the spotlight, with the couple reaching a heartwarming family milestone with Sutton’s adopted daughter, seven.

“Hugh has met Sutton’s daughter Emily – she even calls him ‘Uncle Hugh’!” a source told New Idea this week.

However, Hugh’s ex-wife Deb is said to be “seething with anger” over the couple’s alleged new romance.

Hugh and Deb, 69, confirmed their split in September 2023 after almost three decades together, and he is now rumored to be dating Broadway star Sutton, 49.

It was claimed that Deb was angry about being “the last to know about the relationship”.

According to Radaronline, Deb was particularly unimpressed with Hugh’s close friend Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively, both of whom were reportedly “silent” about the alleged romance.

“They kept their lips sealed out of loyalty to Hugh,” a source told the publication.

“Now she’s seething with rage at being the last to know, and Deb feels blindsided.” She has a memory like a steel trap and isn’t afraid to use it.

“Debs feels betrayed by all three because someone could have told her what happened and they all chose to keep their mouths shut,” they added.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Deb and Ryan’s representatives for comment.

Hugh and Sutton took on the roles of Harold Hill and Marian Paroo in “The Music Man,” which ran from February 2022 to January 2023 at the Winter Garden Theater in Manhattan.

The couple attended public events together and appeared at the premiere of their show “The Music Man” on Broadway in February 2022.

In September 2023, Hugh shocked fans when he filed for divorce from Deb.

“We have been fortunate to spend nearly three decades as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the couple said in a joint statement.

“Our journey is now changing and we have decided to separate to further our individual growth.”

Meanwhile, Sutton filed for divorce from husband Ted Griffin in October.

The Tony Award-winning Broadway star and the 53-year-old Ocean’s Eleven screenwriter split after 10 years of marriage, according to Page Six.

The younger actress filed for an amicable divorce in the New York County Supreme Court.
