Week 16: Player of the Match

Despite the burning feeling of being eliminated from the season, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26-24 on Sunday Night Football.

Like last week, the Cowboys received solid contributions across the board, including another standout performance from All-Pro kicker Brandon Aubrey, who is our Week 16 Player of the Game.

The second-year kicker showcased his power and accuracy, connecting on all four of his field goal attempts, including three from 50 yards or more.

Notably, Aubrey completed two 58-yard throws in the first half.

The former spring football star’s record-breaking night was even more impressive. After hitting a 53-yard field goal in the third quarter that helped Dallas extend its lead to 26-14, Aubrey beat Houston Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn for his 14th field goal from 50 yards or more this season.

Aubrey’s impressive season continues and he has now increased his field goal total to 36 of 42 attempts, matching his single-season shot total from his 2023 Pro Bowl rookie season.

The Cowboys are out of playoff contention at 7-8 and will look to play spoilsport next Sunday when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles, who beat Dallas 34-6 in Week 10.

The Eagles lost to the Washington Commanders 36-33 earlier today, officially ending the Cowboys’ slim postseason hopes.
