List of all locations where The Dead Don’t Die was filmed

The slasher flick takes place in the fictional town of Centerville, Pennsylvania. The settlement captures the offbeat atmosphere of a small destination, free from the constant hustle and bustle we observe in big cities. To show such an environment that eventually falls victim to the unexpected onslaught of zombies, the makers of “The Dead Don’t Die” used several rural neighborhoods in upstate New York as filming locations. These locations primarily include the Elizaville, Ancram and Fleischmanns regions.

Elizaville Diner, Elizaville

The restaurant that serves as ground zero for the zombie outbreak is none other than the renowned Elizaville Diner in Elizaville, New York. While we see the restaurant from the outside in the film, The Dead Don’t Die uses a different location for the interior of the restaurant. The Elizaville Diner is also known for appearing on the cover of Michael Engle’s book Diners of New York.

West Taghkanic Diner, Ancram

This Ancram restaurant is what viewers see when the camera pans inside the aforementioned restaurant. Located 11 miles from Elizaville, the West Taghkanic Diner, with its compact, retro style, is an excellent location for the opening of The Dead Don’t Die. Here, Danny Glover’s Hank stumbles upon the trail of corpses left behind by the undead and then sends out a warning of what’s to come.

Delaware Court Motel, Fleischmann’s

The actual location of the Moonlight Motel shown in the film is the Delaware Court Motel in Fleischmanns, New York. It is at this location that Adam Driver and Bill Murray’s characters discover the immense bloodshed left behind by the attacking zombies and are thus informed of the seriousness of the situation. The Delaware Court Motel is also the filming location where Driver and Murray’s police officers first meet Selena Gomez’s Zoe in the film.

Cornerstone Bible Baptist Church Cemetery, Fleischmanns

The Cornerstone Bible Baptist Church cemetery serves as the primary source of origin for most of the zombies, as seen in a sequence in which a hoard of undead floods Driver and Murray’s police car. The gravesite is also where the UFO traps Tilda Swinton’s character as the film reaches its shocking conclusion.
