The Washington Commanders made life difficult in Week 16 against the Philadelphia Eagles. They have shot themselves in the foot countless times. Individual errors were rife and all signs pointed to another loss to their divisional rivals.

But they continued to fight.

The commanders showed the right determination. They did not flinch in the face of extreme pressure. With an overwhelming end to the competition, they snatched victory despite the defeat.

This was a remarkable game that had everything. It was also another sign of fighting spirit in the Commanders’ locker room under the exceptional leadership of Dan Quinn and his staff.

After some results elsewhere, the Commanders are now within touching distance of confirming their playoff spot. They may not need another win, but Washington can leave no doubt about it with a victory over the Atlanta Falcons next time they play at Northwest Stadium.

Bobby Wagner – Commander’s LB

It was a big game that required great performers. The Washington Commanders needed the best players to make their presence felt. Veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner was one of them.

Wagner was a revelation throughout the campaign. He brought a winning mentality and respected leadership on and off the field. The future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer isn’t getting any younger, but the production defies his age.

It was a significant milestone for Wagner, who played his 200th regular season game since joining the professional team. Things got off to a slow start against the Philadelphia Eagles. After the half-time break, however, he picked up speed and delivered a successful performance.

Whenever Saquon Barkley had football, Wagner was often there to meet him. The former second-round pick also managed a crucial pass breakdown in coverage that could have been the deciding factor for Philadelphia in an emergency.

This was another great performance from Wagner. If the second-tier enforcer wants to continue his illustrious career, the commanders should be more than willing to give him another deal.
