Sunday’s game between the Vikings and Packers has been postponed until 3:25 p.m

The Vikings and Packers were scheduled to play two lunchtime games against each other this season. It would have been only the third time in 28 years that the long-time rivals had not played a game in front of a national audience.

Thanks to the Vikings’ surprising 13-win season, they will finally close out their regular season home schedule on national television against their biggest rival.

The NFL moved the Vikings-Packers game to a 3:25 p.m. kickoff on Sunday at US Bank Stadium. The game will still be broadcast on Fox, but kickoff was scheduled for lunchtime. Instead, it will replace Cowboys-Eagles as Fox’s National Game of the Week.

Because the Vikings’ September 29 victory over the Packers was broadcast on CBS, that week’s game could not be moved to Sunday night; Although the NFL has relaxed its broadcast rules to allow CBS to broadcast NFC games, league regulations state that Fox must broadcast at least one game between NFC division rivals each season.

So the most attention the Vikings-Packers game could get was a change to 3:25 on Sunday.

The Vikings are seeking a 14-win season for the first time since 1998 while also trying to defeat their division rivals for the first time since 2017. The 10-4 Packers play the Saints on Monday night at Lambeau Field.

Minnesota’s Week 18 game in Detroit, which could decide the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the conference playoffs, could be a strong candidate for moving to Sunday night because the NFL has the best match of the final week of the regular season for NBC reserves itself.
