TJ Maxx will close all 1,300 stores for one day with more stores to follow

Bargain hunters and last-minute gift shoppers beware: Your favorite discount store will be closing its doors for the holidays.

Discount retailer TJMaxx recently confirmed it will be closing all 1,319 of its locations on Christmas Day, December 25, to allow thousands of employees to enjoy the holidays with their friends and families.

If Marshalls is your plan B, you may want to develop a new strategy as all other TJX stores, including Marshalls and HomeGoods, will also be closed for the holidays. Don’t worry, Maxxinistas, because most locations are extending their hours on December 23rd and Christmas Eve for last-minute gifts.

TJMaxx is a discount retailer known for its low prices on branded and designer clothing, home goods and beauty products, offering discounts of up to 60% off retail prices.

The popular chain is typically open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Some shops extend their opening hours and open at 7:00 a.m. the week before and close at 11:00 p.m. until Christmas. Most locations will open as early as 8 a.m. the day after Christmas.

TJMaxx is open from 7am to 6pm on Christmas Eve if you’re in a pinch and need to pick up a few last minute gifts and maybe a little something for yourself.

TJX is one of many retailers closing its stores for the holidays so its employees don’t have to worry about missing out on family time.

Other major retailers such as Kohl’s, Target, Burlington and WalMart are also closed on Christmas Day but will remain open on Christmas Eve.

Pharmacy chains like Walgreens and CVS will be open on Christmas Day, and Amazon will have some items in stock for same-day delivery. Happy shopping!
