Eagles-Cowboys game not aired in late afternoon in Week 17 – NBC Sports Philadelphia

The Eagles-Cowboys game this Sunday (Dec. 29) has been moved from its 4:25 p.m. slot. They will now play at Linc at 1 p.m.

The game will continue to be broadcast on FOX and, for the second consecutive year, the broadcast team will include Joe Davis, Greg Olsen and Pam Oliver.

The Eagles-Cowboys game in Week 17 was moved up as the Packers-Vikings game was moved to that 4:25 p.m. slot.

The Eagles (12-3) are coming off a 36-33 road loss to the Commanders on Sunday after winning 10 straight. Meanwhile, the Cowboys (7-8) have turned things around under backup quarterback Cooper Rush, winning four of their last five games. On Sunday night they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26-24.

The Eagles and Cowboys had their first duel in Week 10 in North Texas. The Eagles won that game 34-6. As the Eagles start this week, quarterback Jalen Hurts is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. If he can’t play, this would be a battle of backup quarterbacks.

They’ve already secured a spot in the playoffs, but with a win on Sunday over the Cowboys, the Eagles would clinch the NFC East and at least second place in the conference. With a loss and a Washington loss to the Falcons on Sunday night, they could also clinch the division and the No. 2 seed. They would obviously rather take care of it themselves.

The Eagles aren’t officially out of contention for the No. 1 seed yet, but they would need a lot of help. For that dream to stay alive in Week 17, the Eagles would have to win and the Lions and Vikings would have to lose.

After playing the Cowboys in Week 17, the Eagles host the Giants in Week 18 to conclude their regular season.

If the season ended now, the Eagles would host the Commanders in the wild card round in a 2-7 game. This would be an entertaining rematch after a lively match in Week 16.
