American Airlines is adding flights from these U.S. hubs to Quebec, Calgary, Bozeman and more

American Airlines just announced a notable expansion to Canada and the Rocky Mountains next year.

“In summer 2025, American will launch five new routes to connect customers to their favorite outdoor destinations,” the airline said in a statement T+L. “With easy access to breathtaking glaciers, stunning wildlife and unique natural landscapes, travelers planning their New Year’s resolutions will have more opportunities to enjoy nature from Nova Scotia to Montana.”

The airline will introduce Saturday-only service on five all-new routes that will operate seasonally:

  • Chicago (ORD) to/from Halifax (YHZ): June 21 to October 24

  • Dallas (DFW) to/from Quebec City (YQB): August 9 to November 1

  • New York (LGA) to/from Calgary (YYC): June 7th to August 30th

  • New York (LGA) to/from Bozeman (BZN): June 7 to August 30

  • New York (LGA) to/from Kalispell (FCA): June 7th to August 30th

The first two routes will be operated using the fleet of Embraer E175 aircraft in a 2-2 configuration in economy class, while all flights from New York’s LaGuardia Airport will be operated using a larger Boeing 737 MAX8 aircraft. American Airlines will be the only airline to serve all of these new routes.

Notably, there will be more nonstop flights to Bozeman in the 2025 summer season than ever before. Main competitors Delta Air Lines and JetBlue also offer nonstop flights between nearby New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Bozeman, while United Airlines offers more frequent flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in mid-summer. However, American’s new service from LaGuardia may be the most convenient airport for most New Yorkers.

2025 will be the year dozens of new flights to Canada launch for the first time, with smaller cities like Tampa, Raleigh and Nashville gaining non-stop service to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) via Air Canada. Additionally, smaller Canadian airlines such as Porter Airlines and Flair Airlines will offer service to U.S. cities, operating from Toronto and Alberta respectively.
