The Cowboys-Eagles have decided to start Week 17 at noon

FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys’ Week 17 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles has been moved from the 3:25 CT time slot and will now begin at 12 p.m. on FOX instead.

In their place, the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings will take over the 3:25 kickoff slot.

The Cowboys are officially out of playoff contention, having won four of their last five games, as they look to play spoilsport against teams heading into the final two games of the season.

Philadelphia also still has a long way to go. After losing to the Commanders on Sunday, they missed a chance to clinch the NFC East, which would have been their 11th straight win. Instead, they must beat the Cowboys or have the Atlanta Falcons beat Washington on Sunday to win the division.

It’s a rivalry game that still has meaning for the Cowboys and especially for Micah Parsons, who didn’t hold back when talking about the Eagles last week.

“Even if we were eliminated, I could destroy Philly… I hate them now,” Parsons said. “I see them just talking so much on social media. I don’t know, my Twitter page was consumed by Philly (fans). Man, ugh. They say I’m not looking forward to some things, but I’m excited about the matchup too.”

The Cowboys lost their first game against Philadelphia at AT&T Stadium in Week 10, falling 34-6 to an Eagles defense that held Cooper Rush to just 45 passing yards in his first start of the season in place of Dak Prescott.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 14 of his 20 pass attempts for 202 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in their first meeting this season. Hurts missed most of Sunday’s Philadelphia game after suffering a concussion in the first quarter, and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was unable to provide an update on his condition after the game.

Kenny Pickett took over for Hurts the rest of the game and threw for 143 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Pickett had X-rays taken of his ribs after the game but told reporters he believed he would be available Sunday.

Regardless, the Eagles quarterback situation is one to keep an eye on throughout the week, as Hurts will have to go through the NFL’s concussion protocol before he can return to practice.
