In the world of Hollywood, it’s pretty much assumed that everyone knows everyone. And if that’s the case, then how could a celebrity be starstruck when meeting another A-lister? Of course, after years of watching Jennifer Lawrence fangirl at red carpet events and Adele gushing about Beyoncé’s Lemonade album in her own Grammy speech, we know that celebrities get just as excited about a get-together as we do.

Stanley Tucci himself has admitted that he can be speechless when he meets his famous colleagues. In his new memoir, “What I Ate in One Year (and Related Thoughts),” he wrote that he was “too impressed to form proper sentences” when he met actor Cillian Murphy at the French premiere of “Oppenheimer.” And he once told Allrecipes that he had a bit of a “fan girl” moment while appearing on Ina Garten’s cooking show, “Be My Guest with Ina Garten.”

Tucci and his sister-in-law Emily Blunt both appeared on Garten’s show “because she is one of their food idols,” Tucci writes in his book. When Tucci was on the show, he and Garten made martinis and Rockefeller oysters — while Blunt made the Barefoot Contessa her family favorite turkey bolognese. However, the famous The Devil Wears Prada duo share a particular fondness for a garden recipe.

“Ina Garten… has a recipe for a shortcrust tart with leeks, goat cheese and fresh tomatoes that Emily made a few years ago and that I’ve been obsessed with ever since,” he writes in “What I Ate in.” A year (and related thoughts).”

The simple dish consists of just four ingredients and is one that Tucci “couldn’t get out of his head for days,” he wrote in his memoirs. It’s his take on the French dish pissaladière, a puff pastry with leeks and onions sautéed in butter and black olives.

Of course, Tucci doesn’t provide a full recipe in his book, but here’s the gist.

“I fried two onions and three leeks in butter and oil, spread them on puff pastry, sprinkled the whole thing with black olives and baked it for thirty minutes,” he writes.

It’s not the only time Tucci has made the four-ingredient pie – he shared a video of himself eating a similar version on Instagram earlier this year. We came up with a fairly simple recipe for the tart that requires about 45 minutes of caramelizing the onions and 20 to 25 minutes of baking in a 400°F oven.

We promise the cake is as good as Tucci says, because we too couldn’t get rid of it for days. Whether served with wine and a salad or as a party appetizer, the leek and onion tart is on par with the best of the best in Garten’s tomato and goat cheese version.
