Bill Clinton was admitted to the DC hospital with a fever

Former US President Bill Clinton has been admitted to a hospital in Washington, DC after suffering from a fever.

In a statement on Monday, December 23, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff Angel Ureña, 78, told NBC News he was “admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for testing and observation after developing a fever.”

A source told the outlet the current situation is “not urgent.”

“The former president will be fine,” the insider continued. “He developed a fever and wanted to be examined. He’s awake and alert.”

Ureña also told CNN that Clinton is “doing well,” adding, “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.”

According to the medium, Ureña said Clinton is expected to be home for Christmas.

During an appearance on November 25th on Live with Kelly and MarkBill said his role as former president of the United States sometimes takes a backseat to another important title.

“Depends on what day it is. Some days he is at his weakest and strongest. But he has the longest cool list,” Bill joked with Kelly Ripa, 54, about his “influential position” as the “Pop-Pop of the family.”

Bill is grandfather to daughter Chelsea Clinton’s three children: Charlotte (10), Aidan (8) and Jasper (5).

When Mark Consuelos, 53, asked the politician how he came up with the nickname, Bill explained that it is a nickname that has been in their family for some time: “That’s what Chelsea called Hillary’s dad. And you know, we have a great time together. “That’s it.” a good deal.”

In 2021, Bill told PEOPLE that his Christmas plans usually include him and Hillary visiting Chelsea’s family.

“We always go there on Christmas Eve, spend the night and celebrate Christmas Day with them,” he said at the time. “And I think it’s the right thing to do across generations. And then we usually go to the train exhibit at the Bronx Zoo. It’s great.”
