Kim Kardashian releases cover and music video for “Santa Baby”.

Calling all cinephiles: Kim Kardashian has released a four-minute experimental Christmas film for her cover of “Santa Baby,” directed by Nadia Lee Cohen and Charlie Denis and produced by her brother-in-law Travis Barker. The conceit, if I had to conjure it up the first time, goes something like this: The drug lord’s sexy housewife drops too much Valium in her eggnog and crawls around the house dizzy. Kim is breathless at the first note. Every prop owner she passes, from the fainting nun to the donkey in the nativity scene and the swimmer in the aquarium, acts strangely. As she weaves her way past creepers and fake piles of snow, she stops in front of Santa Claus, who is grinning on a chair with a video camera. (He also happens to be Macaulay Culkin.)

We still don’t know why she made this music video. Is this all just an elaborate Skims commercial or is Kim just a big Stanley Kubrick fan? (She nods The shining one in the movie.) Was North watching? Home alone for the first time? Although Kim has always been something of a wild card, her actions lately have felt particularly random. She rode around on a mobility scooter and played rock-paper-scissors with a Tesla robot. This isn’t her first foray into music, although it is one of her more interesting vanity projects, so I don’t mind. But Macaulay, blink twice if you need help.
