What did Aventura Mall look like when it opened four decades ago? See for yourself

Aventura Mall opened in April 1983 in a distinctly different South Florida landscape.

Four anchor stores run by Lord & Taylor. No cinema with 24 screens. Covering 1.2 million square feet, a fraction of the nearly 3 million square foot Aventura attraction has grown over the course of four decades.
