Following the ninth-seeded SEC Tennessee Volunteers’ 42-17 loss to the eighth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is facing significant backlash after criticizing the College Football Playoff committee’s decisions and his disdain for the SEC’s absence has expressed teams.

Kiffin’s 9-3 Ole Miss Rebels were eliminated from the 12-team College Football Playoff, leading to his frustration on social media over overwhelming losses to SMU and Indiana.

After SMU’s 38-10 loss to Penn State on Saturday, Kiffin tweeted the following:

A way to keep us updated. Committee…. Captivating

In addition to SMU’s defeat, the Indiana Hoosiers also lost 27:17 to Notre Dame on Friday.

Although Texas represented the SEC well in the College Football Playoff with a win over Clemson, the Tennessee Volunteers failed to keep their end of the bargain with a disastrous loss to Ohio State.

Kiffin posted his thoughts before the Volunteers game, but ironically he hasn’t been heard from since:

College football fans flooded social media after the Volunteers’ loss, excoriating Kiffin over his SEC comments:

Kiffin was open to criticism and received plenty of it on social media.

The quarterfinals begin Dec. 31, starting with Penn State and Boise State in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl.
