EAST BOSTON, Mass. –

Lots of holiday cheer at Logan Airport on Tuesday to counteract a Grinch-like event.

American Airlines suspended flights across the country around 7:30 a.m. Monday due to a technical issue.

The break came at a crucial time, Christmas Eve, when many travelers fly to arrive in time for the big day.

After about an hour, American Airlines was allowed to resume flights, causing some delays and stress.

“We saw (the cancellations) this morning when we were having coffee, like ‘Oh no, you’ve got to be kidding me, American,’ but luckily it only lasted about an hour and we were only about 30 minutes late, keep it now “We keep our fingers crossed,” said traveler Scott Harrill.

Harill’s family was also affected by winter weather Friday as they traveled to Massachusetts, but their pilot handed out candy and that smoothed things over.

American Airlines blamed Monday morning’s hiccup on a “provider technology issue,” apologized to customers and added that they have their hands full getting people where they need to go.
