Delivery! SpaceX will launch the Starlink mission from Cape Canaveral before Christmas Eve

In the first hour of Monday, SpaceX launched its own pre-holiday transportation method – a Falcon 9 rocket.

At 12:35 a.m., the rocket lit up the cloudy Florida night sky as it rumbled into orbit. Its delivery – the next batch of SpaceX Starlink internet satellites. This batch included a total of 21 satellites, 13 of which were for the Starlink cellular service. This particular mission was dubbed Starlink 12-2.

Eight and a half minutes after launch, the first stage booster landed on the Just Read the Instructions drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. The booster experienced its fourteenth flight, previous missions included: seven Starlink missions, Axiom-2, Axiom-3, CRS-30, SES 24, Cygnus NG-21 and Euclid.

Overall, this was Space Coast’s 91st launch this year.

SpaceX’s Astranis mission is delayed

After weather delayed the launch of four satellites for Astranis Space Technologies, the launch attempt on Friday, December 20, suffered a rare last-second abort. SpaceX delayed the mission again on Saturday evening and said it would back away from the launch after reviewing the data. SpaceX has not yet announced a new launch date.
