Macaulay Culkin is Santa Claus in Kim Kardashian’s spooky “Santa Baby” video

Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin plays another iconic Christmas character – Santa Claus – in the music video for Kim Kardashian’s cover of the holiday classic “Santa Baby.”

Directed by Nadia Lee Cohen and Charlie Denis, the found-footage-style pic features a blonde Kardashian crawling on the floor through a house party, leading viewers to discover strange and vaguely Christmas-like scenes. These include: models playing Twister, a live donkey accompanied by the Virgin Mary, Jesus opening a refrigerator, a woman cutting a Christmas tree with scissors and businessmen petting a reindeer mascot. At the end of the clip, Kardashian ends up stumbling upon Santa, and the camera turns to show Culkin dressed as Santa, holding an old VHS camera and flashing an unsettling grin.

Kardashian’s cover of “Santa Baby,” with her subtle and breathy vocals, plays quietly in the background of the video. The song marked Kardashian’s first musical release in 13 years. It was produced by her brother-in-law Travis Barker and released in collaboration with his DTA Records and Columbia Records. Fans of the reality series “The Kardashians” may remember that Kardashian recorded a “Santa Baby” cover in Season 3, although it’s unclear whether this new release is the same version of the song.

“Santa Baby,” originally sung by Eartha Kitt in 1953, is one of the most popular Christmas songs and has been covered by artists such as Madonna, Ariana Grande, Cher, Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani and more.
