If you’re planning on spending time in front of the TV this season, check out this list of 2024 Christmas movies you can stream now.

New streaming Christmas movies for 2024

Amazon MGM Studios

After hitting theaters in mid-November, the action-packed holiday offering “Red One” made its debut on the streaming service. Rated PG-13 and starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans, the film is about a globe-trotting quest to save Santa Claus. You can tune in to the film on Prime Video to see if these two movie stars succeed in their mission.

In this Netflix film, ex-partners living in less-than-happy circumstances are reunited for Christmas after being apart for a decade. Lindsay Lohan and Ian Harding play former dates who are reunited when their partners – siblings – invite them to a holiday get-together. Will they be able to keep their story secret? To find out, you’ll have to tune in.

Ryan Green/Disney

In this festive film, Ben Stiller plays a city dweller whose life takes a turn. He leaves Chicago to temporarily care for his four orphaned nephews on a rural farm, and child-induced chaos ensues. Real siblings play the boys’ quartet and Linda Cardellini plays the social worker.

It’s Taron Egerton vs. Jason Bateman in this Netflix airport thriller with enough holiday energy to land on this list. The showdown occurs when Bateman’s enigmatic character pressures Egerton’s TSA agent to get a bag through security and onto a Christmas Eve flight. If you’re in the mood for a holiday movie with a difference, leave room in your suitcase for this one.

Netflix

A Netflix holiday release that no one expected – but that makes perfect sense – Hot Frosty stars Lacey Chabert as a small-town woman who meets a hunk of snowman descent. The comedic outing also stars The Office’s Craig Robinson and Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Joe Lo Truglio – a sheriff and his deputy on the trail of a speedster who may be the community’s hottest (and technically coldest) newcomer or not.

Adam Rose/Netflix

A Magic Mike-like audience favorite, “The Merry Gentlemen” revolves around a city dancer who wants to save her parents’ struggling business. The strategy? An all-male revue led by chiseled craftsman Chad Michael Murray. Of course, all of this has to be done by Christmas.

Disney

Would you like to spend Christmas with an adorable little owl? This animated short film on Disney Plus follows the journey of a young bird named Moon who ends up alone in Rockefeller Plaza for the holidays and befriends a young girl who is also far from home. The voice actors include Jim Gaffigan, Mamoudou Athie, Natasha Lyonne and John C. Reilly.

Netflix

Succession’s Brian Cox, who plays Santa Claus, stars in this PG-rated animated film from Love Rather writer-director Richard Curtis. The film is based on three children’s books by Curtis, co-author of That Christmas, and packs multiple stories into one Christmas package.

Marni Grossman/Netflix

Pop group Pentatonix and Christina Milian star in this romantic Christmas comedy that brings festive melodies and chemistry. Milian’s character is looking for tickets to a sold-out Pentatonix concert in New York City, hoping to join a man she had a friendly meeting with a year earlier. But the decision to hire a concierge leads to an unexpected second love interest.

Paramount Plus’ first original Christmas movie, Dear Santa, features a star-studded cast and a groundbreaking production: What if a little boy accidentally addressed a letter to Satan instead of the man with the bag? Jack Black plays the kid’s evil new acquaintance, and Keegan-Michael Key and Post Malone star in this unconventional holiday film that wasn’t particularly well received by critics.

Lupus movies

Gerard Butler’s St. Nick meets Emilia Clarke’s Christmas-hating Queen of Hearts in this animated musical film based on the book of the same name by Carys Bexington. This is a vacation photo that can entertain the kids.

Danny DeVito and Andie MacDowell star in this Hulu offering set in the Dolomites of Italy. In the funny comedy, a family celebrates Christmas at an unusual time of year while a 10-year-old girl tries to prevent her parents from separating.

Hallmark Media

When it comes to new holiday movies, Hallmark has the winter stuff. If you don’t have cable, you can use Peacock to watch Countdown to Christmas – but you’ll need to keep track of the schedule. The streamer offers movies live as they air on the Hallmark Channel on the East Coast or on-demand the next day. However, keep in mind that the viewing window is limited to three days if you go the on-demand route.
