Most flights at CVG on time after American Airlines delays

There are record numbers of people out and about, but it hasn’t been easy for everyone. Problems with one airline led to delayed flights as people tried to travel home for the holidays. “All American Airlines are grounded. They can’t tell us why,” said traveler Kathy Patton. Most American Airlines flights were delayed Tuesday morning after a technical issue grounded all flights nationwide. The basic order was issued around 7 a.m. and lifted a short time later. “Our flight is slightly delayed, about 20 minutes,” said traveler Tawana Thomas. A CVG spokesperson told WLWT that nine flights were delayed due to the glitch. Despite a few problems, the flight went smoothly on most other airlines. “It’s on time. I’m flying to Paris first and then to Mumbai with United. It’s a long flight, but it should be good,” said traveler Saad Ghosn. Laura Zembrodt of Cincinnati is flying south on Frontier to spend time with her family in Florida. Her goal was to come to Christmas Eve dinner. “It’s very simple. The Cincinnati airport is very easy to maneuver, which is ideal,” Zembrodt said. AAA expects air traffic to set a new record this holiday season, with 7.85 million passengers choosing to fly. This beats last year’s record of 7.5 million. Many families are on the move, hoping to reach their final festive destination. “Just take your time. Just because it was like this today doesn’t mean it’s always like this, but the key is to give yourself plenty of time,” said traveler Tonyia Downs.
