Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has paid tribute to her husband and daughters after celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

Curtis wrote on Instagram last week (December 18): “40 years ago today, on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., Christopher (guest) and I got married. We loved each other, but barely knew each other. Today we know each other very well and still love each other.”

Curtis and Guest, a comedy director, met and married in 1984. Together they have two daughters, Annie and Ruby – one of whom is transgender.

“We have been through a lot, raising and loving two beautiful daughters, starting many new careers, and weathering life’s countless storms under life’s conditions of love and loss.”

“We held hands as we walked back to the altar that day, and we still hold hands today. I guess the beginning of “My Hand in Yours.” The long and winding road,” Curtis continued.

Curtis said she and Guest are “opposites,” which is one of the reasons their partnership is successful. Earlier this month, Curtis told Today that even after 40 years, Guest still makes her “laugh more than any other person.”

“And I’m sure there’s something about me that he likes. “I don’t know what it is, but I’m sure there’s something there,” Curtis joked.

Her daughter Ruby came out as transgender in 2020 and both Curtis and Guest have been very supportive.

Curtis publicly shared Ruby’s transition with her permission, previously saying that she and Guest “watched with wonder and pride as our son became our daughter, Ruby.”

Curtis has also said that “parenthood is about love” and that she will “fight and defend her right to exist against anyone who claims she has no right to exist.”

In an interview with People, Ruby said that although coming out to her parents was a little “scary” for her, she “wasn’t worried” about their reaction because “they’ve been so accommodating her whole life “were.
