Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest are celebrating a major wedding milestone.

On Wednesday, December 18th, the Last Showgirl The actress celebrated the 40th anniversary of her wedding to Guest with a sweet Instagram tribute. The post began with a black-and-white throwback photo from their wedding day in 1984. The second snap showed the couple’s shadows on the floor – hand in hand, a reflection of their wedding picture.

“40 years ago today, on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., Christopher and I got married,” Curtis, 66, captioned her post. “We loved each other, but barely knew each other. Today we know each other really well and still love each other.”

She went on to say that she and Guest, 76, “have been through a lot, raising and loving two beautiful daughters, embarking on many new careers and weathering life’s countless storms under life’s conditions of love and loss.”

She concluded: “We held hands as we walked back down the aisle that day, and we still hold hands today. I guess the beginning of ‘My hand in yours.'” The long and winding road.

Curtis’ heartfelt tribute was accompanied by the Beatles’ “The Long and Winding Road.”

Last week, Curtis revealed during an appearance on US show The that he was married to Guest for almost four decades Today Show, December 12th.

On the talk show, the Oscar winner spoke about the joy Guest brings to her life, even as her 40th birthday approaches.

“Do you guys just continue to grow together?” Hoda Kotb asked Curtis.

“That’s it,” the actress replied. “At the end of the day, Chris wasn’t a director when I married him, I wasn’t a writer. Chris wasn’t a producer when I married him, I wasn’t a producer when he married me. We grew into these new jobs.” That’s what we did.”

Curtis went on to describe how Guest enriches her life. “He still makes me laugh more than any other person, and I’m sure he likes something about me,” she said.

Curtis tied the knot with Guest after six months of dating. They then had two children: daughters Annie (38) and Ruby (28).

During an appearance on December 2nd on Jimmy Kimmel LiveCurtis said she recently found the Cartier receipt when her now-husband bought her engagement ring.

“He shot SNL in New York and I shot the film Perfect,” The Halloween Actress remembered. “I was at what’s called a pay phone where you put coins in it, and I remember we were talking and I said, ‘What did you do today?’ ”

The guest told her that he had been “walking” around town and mentioned that he had visited a Cartier store.

“And then, in typical boy fashion, he asked, ‘Do you like diamonds?’ ” Curtis continued. “So he came to Los Angeles and…well, he proposed in a more private and intimate way.”
