“Mariah Carey celebrates the historic reign of ‘All I Want for Christmas'”

Mariah Carey isn’t called the Queen of Christmas for nothing!

On Monday, December 23, the 55-year-old singer posted a photo of herself that was shared on billboards Instagram after revealing that her festive hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has topped her Hot 100 chart for a record-breaking 17th week overall.

“This is unbelievable!!!! “I will never take this for granted,” Carey captioned the post on her Instagram Stories. “Merry early Christmas!!!!”

In her festive photo, the singer wears a figure-hugging red dress while surrounded by perfectly wrapped presents under her Christmas trees.

billboard In the caption of their post, they also revealed that Carey previously claimed a spot on the No. 1 songs list with another song from the 1990s. The new record surpassed the 16-week record held at No. 1 by Boyz II Men in 1995-96 by “One Sweet Day.”

They also shared that “All I Want for Christmas Is You” — which tops the Hot 100 for the third consecutive year this holiday season — also has the third-longest period of dominance in the chart’s 66-year history.

The record-breaking title appeared on Carey’s in 1994 Merry Christmas Album.

Accordingly billboardfirst appeared in the top 10 of their Hot 100 chart in December 2017 before breaking into the top 5 a year later. In 2019, it topped the charts for three weeks during the Christmas period.

The song has enjoyed great popularity ever since. It spent two weeks at the top in 2020, three weeks in 2021, four weeks at the top in 2022, and two weeks at the top in 2023.

The achievement comes after Carey wrapped up her star-studded Christmas Time Tour on Tuesday, December 17.

Just days earlier, it was announced that “All I Want for Christmas Is You” became the first Christmas song ever to reach 2 billion streams on Spotify.

“This is beyond incredible. I’m honored that “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is the first Christmas track on Spotify to reach 2 billion streams! “I am so grateful to all Spotify listeners around the world for making the song a part of their holiday tradition year after year,” Carey told PEOPLE in a Dec. 13 statement.
