HARRISBURG, Pa. –

With just a few hours left until Christmas Day, many last-minute shoppers are flocking to malls and stores in the Susquehanna Valley on Tuesday in hopes of finding last-minute gifts for their loved ones and friends.

Capital City Mall was among the locations that saw an increase in last-minute customers before the store closed at 6 p.m.

Bleacher Bums store manager Daniel Rhone said many people looking for a gift for the sports fan in their life visited the store looking for Penn State gear or Eagles swag, with Saquon Barkley jerseys being particularly popular.

“Given this age of online retail, it’s great to see that brick-and-mortar is still a thing,” he said.

Shoppers said they were generally looking for gifts for family and friends.

Jennifer Brillhart of Ocean City, Maryland, formerly lived in the Susquehanna Valley and visited the mall to purchase a gift for her granddaughter, who turns 8 on Wednesday.

“For us, it’s like an old meeting place since we’ve lived here. It’s nice to come in and see all the people shopping,” she said.
