Thirty NFL games have been played on Christmas, including two each in 2004, 2006, 2016, 2017 and ’21. This year will mark the fifth consecutive season in which games have been played on the holiday. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs will open play at 1:00 p.m. ET.

The Chiefs enter Week 17 and are the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The reigning Super Bowl champions will face the Steelers. Many families across the country will open their presents at the kick-off and the excitement is set to continue as this duel promises to be entertaining.

Despite their great record, the Chiefs have had a tumultuous season compared to what we typically see from them since Patrick Mahomes was drafted. The KC offense struggled to score but its defense remains a strength. Conversely, the Steelers are fighting for a spot in the AFC playoffs and appear poised for a strong playoff run behind a revitalized offense with Russell Wilson at the helm.

Only viewers in local markets will be able to watch the game on television as the game will be streamed live on Netflix.

Netflix will stream both games of the doubleheader live on Christmas.

NFL fans in the United States outside of competing teams’ markets will need to log in to their Netflix account – or subscribe to the streaming service – to watch. Both matchups are available with any Netflix plan.

These teams last met in the playoffs in the 2021 postseason, where the Chiefs dominated the wild card round to a 42-21 home win.
