Last-minute shoppers flock to stores on Christmas Eve in New Hampshire

Last-minute shoppers headed to New Hampshire stores on Christmas Eve to try to check off the last items left on their list. Some shoppers at the Rockingham Park mall said it was a tradition to wait until the last moment. The feeling in the mall was festive and people showed their holiday spirit as they shopped and walked with family and friends. Many were proud to call themselves procrastinators. “We’re procrastinators, and we talked about it this morning: ‘Do we have enough for people?’ and we decided we weren’t going to do that,” said Pam Morse of Medford, Massachusetts. >> Download the free WMUR app to get updates on the go: Apple | Google Play <<"I'm a procrastinator, so I wait for everything," said Dan Berry of Merrimac, Massachusetts. “I wait until the last minute, you know?” Some said their strategy was to wait for the crowds to clear. “I don’t think it’s that crazy right now,” said Charles Early of Haverhill, Massachusetts. “So I think a lot of people don’t want to come out last minute. We'll just come out and do the rest." Others said it's a tradition for them to go out to have their picture taken with Santa on Christmas Eve. The mall will be closed on Christmas Day, but will be open to everyone again on Thursday open who want to give something back or use gift cards.

Some shoppers at the Mall at Rockingham Park said it’s a tradition to wait until the last moment.

The atmosphere at the mall was festive and people showed their Christmas spirit as they shopped and strolled with family and friends. Many were proud to call themselves procrastinators.

“We’re procrastinators, and we talked about it this morning: ‘Do we have enough for people?’ and we decided we weren’t going to do it,” said Pam Morse of Medford, Massachusetts.

“I’m a procrastinator, so I wait for everything,” said Dan Berry of Merrimac, Massachusetts. “I’ll wait until the last minute, you know?”

Some said their strategy was to wait for the crowds to clear.

“I don’t think it’s that crazy right now,” said Charles Early of Haverhill, Massachusetts. “So I think a lot of people don’t want to come out last minute. We’ll just come out and figure out the rest.”

Others said it was a tradition for them to have their photo taken with Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.

The mall will be closed on Christmas Day but will reopen on Thursday for anyone who wants to give back or use gift cards.
