Drone panic and the crisis of reality

In recent weeks, the skies over the United States, particularly New Jersey and several other northeastern states, have been lit up by an unusual phenomenon: mysterious drones. These sightings have captured public attention and spawned a variety of explanations – showing a loss of trust in authoritative institutions and narratives.

Sightings began on November 18 near Morris County, New Jersey. The mysterious plane has been reported ever since new York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia, OhioAnd Texas. The sightings have several elements in common. The alleged drones often fly in formations and sometimes appear to be the size of cars. More importantly, most sightings occurred over or near military bases.

This is not entirely unprecedented. For example, drones of unknown origin were spotted at the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 fly in a grid-like pattern over nuclear missile silos in Colorado and Nebraska, often at night. However, sightings have increased over the past year. Last December, when reported from The Wall Street JournalFor 17 consecutive days, a fleet of unidentified drones flew over critical military sites in the Chesapeake Bay.
