It’s that time again. Fortnite has ushered in the holiday season with its annual winter festival, and a feature that was missing last year has returned. Players can find a stack of Christmas presents to unwrap at the Winterfest Lodge, a cozy cabin fully decorated for the holiday season.

Each gift contains various cosmetic rewards that are free to all players, from contrails to pickaxes and even a few festive skins, including the aforementioned Snoop Dogg skin. During the 2024 Winterfest event, players will be able to tear off the wrapping paper of one gift per day.

There’s a lot to unpack. Let’s take a look at what’s included in each gift. Of course, if you prefer a surprise, you should avoid reading further. Each of these gifts comes “from” another Fortnite NPC, such as Sgt. Winter and Guffmas Tree. How sweet of them to think of us this Christmas.

Fortnite Winterfest Gifts

We start with the pile of presents on the right side of the couch next to Snoop Dogg, who is playing Fortnite.

• The big pink and purple gift: Peppermint Paraglider
• The big gift with the blue ribbon: Christmas bag back accessory
• The big red gift: Snow glittering contrail
• The square purple gift: This is Cold Jac! Back accessory
• The long blue gift: Dogg Treat pickaxe

To Snoop Dogg’s left is another stack of Christmas presents.

• High yellow present on the left: Snoop’s Holladizzle Bass (bass guitar)
• Big green gift: Christmas Jacket (Skin)
• Short rectangular yellow on the left: Humbug Cutter (Pickaxe)
• Briefly light purple on the left: Tree Keys, Choose Naughty and Crashed Chill (Sprays)

The final gift, a yellow box in the middle, is the Snoop Dogg skin. However, you won’t be able to find this gift until later in the event. You also can’t open the Yulejacket skin yet – if you try, you’ll be told “Save for last!”

You can also turn off and on the neon Llama sign in the lodge and warm up by the fire, where you can also passively earn XP.

The Mariah Carey skin, Santa Shaq skin, and many other holiday cosmetics are available in the Fortnite Item Shop. You have until January 7th to unwrap all of these gifts and join in the celebrations in the hugely popular battle royale game.

Call of duty is currently running its own Christmas event with a range of free rewards obtained by collecting Archies in games. Many players accidentally got many thousands of these at the start of the event (I had almost 35,000), making it super easy to unlock everything right away, including a brand new sniper rifle. Maybe this is Activision’s way of apologizing for the rampant cheating that exists there War zone lately.
