“Good Morning America” with Brevard School on Christmas Eve

Students at a Brevard County elementary school got a special surprise when Mickey Mouse showed up with hundreds of Christmas presents.

The special visit, which took place earlier this month at Endeavor Elementary School, was filmed for a segment that will air on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Christmas Eve. Mickey Mouse was accompanied by the Disney Wish cruise as part of VoluntEARS’ 2024 Disney Ultimate Toy Drive. It is an initiative by Mickey and his friends to deliver toys to schools, hospitals and non-profit organizations for children in need around the world.

One of the reasons for choosing the Endeavor is that Brevard County is home to Port Canaveral, where guests board the Disney Wish, as well as several other Disney ships, including the brand new Disney Treasure. Endeavor’s entire student body is considered economically disadvantaged.

“Disney Cruise Line believes in the power of happiness and how it can support children and families when they need it most,” said Q. Jones, senior manager, corporate social responsibility, Disney Cruise Line. “We are proud to support students in Brevard County throughout the year through a variety of learning programs, grants and more, and this holiday celebration is a highlight of the year for the children and our VoluntEARS.”

What happened when Mickey surprised the Brevard County students?

All Endeavor students were surprised with gifts. Each child received a book and a Disney plush toy.

The VolunetEARS played games with the children and their families, shared snacks, and Mickey posed for photos. Photos from the event show students giddy with excitement, some of them with their hands over their mouths in shock, others hugging Mickey.
