After retiring from the road, Sir Elton John is enjoying extra time with his husband David Furnish and their two sons these days. But that doesn’t mean The Rocket Man has lost his singing or showmanship. The 77-year-old legend proved he’s still got it with an incredible performance of “Tiny Dancer” during the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade on Wednesday (December 25).

Elton John delights parade watchers

Families around the world curled up around the fireplace — still in comfy pajamas, no doubt — to watch the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade on Wednesday morning (December 25). The joyous event was hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro and aired at 10 a.m. Eastern on ABC and at 11 a.m. on Disney+.

Fans called John’s performance “truly the most magical thing I’ve ever seen!” Others applauded his sound, saying, “His voice still sounds amazing!” He truly is a remarkable artist.”

“It feels amazing,” Sir Elton told On The Red Carpet. “My kids will love it because they are Walt Disney fanatics just like us.”

The EGOT winner performed his 1972 hit “Tiny Dancer,” much to the delight of the audience. Shockingly, “Tiny Dancer” initially failed on the pop charts (due in part to its six-minute running time). Over time, however, audiences warmed up and the song became a staple on adult contemporary and rock radio stations. (Almost famous also helped a bit, as the song experienced a surge in popularity after it appeared in Cameron Crowe’s 2000 cult classic.)
