Surely you have reached this point by making good decisions and we want you to continue to do so. But also consider a few nuances of this bizarre week 17.

There are 16 games on five different days. Two games on Wednesday (!), Christmas Day. The usual Thursday game. Three Saturday games. Nine games on Sunday, one game on Monday.

Remember that whoever you start early in the week belongs to a static spot (RB, WR, TE) and not a flex spot, even if they theoretically appear as a “flex” on your depth chart. This gives you maximum flexibility for later decisions.

Make sure you do a quick check of your roster on Christmas morning to see what you accomplished through the waivers overnight. You might have to face some of these guys on Wednesday.

Once a player has a game, you can cut him in most leagues if he’s on your bench – and you should. Take out additional insurance for the late week. Maybe you decide not to play Jaylen Warren on Christmas, which might make sense for your squad. After this game, cut it for someone who plays later, even if it’s just an insurance game. For example, you may need a caddy for one of the later games due to injury.

At the conclusion of Saturday’s games, there will be six results in the books, with almost 40% of the week complete. If your matchup is very one-sided at this point, you may want to take that into account in future start/sit calls. If you are a heavy favorite, pay attention to ground and safety. If you’re a big underdog, think about upside potential and possible correlating plays. Please note that this shift only applies if the percentages are skewed in one direction. In a highly competitive game, just make the sensible, conventional decisions you normally make.

With two games taking place on Christmas Day, I thought it would be fun to offer potential sleepers for all four teams. Of course, don’t force these guys into your lineup. Make good decisions, pilot.

He had a three-touchdown stretch in Week 16, but Kansas City’s seam coverage has been spotty all year. Only three tight ends have more touchdown catches than Freiermuth this season.

Even after Isiah Pacheco’s return, he refused to leave, amassing 29 touches and 128 total yards over the last two weeks. This will likely be a hot backfield right now.

There has been a recent rally with two touchdowns and 12 catches in the last three games. Tank Dell will be unavailable, which could impact Schultz’s chances.

This year has seen a number of low-volume, high-touchdown targets emerge (Quentin Johnston, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine). Bateman plays that music too – he typically scores between 3 and 5 targets, but runs downfield routes and always has touchdown equity.

End your championship season now. We’ll take care of the parade route next week.
