Patrick Mahomes matched up with rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy on the Kansas City Chiefs’ first drive of Week 17 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.

After a quick three-pointer for the Steelers, Mahomes pushed the Kansas City offense downfield and eventually found himself in the red zone.

On a second-and-4 inside Pittsburgh’s ten-yard line, Worthy stepped up as a running back and caught an easy swing pass from Mahomes that led to an easy touchdown for the first-year wideout.

Even with plenty of time remaining in Wednesday’s game, Worthy’s deft touchdown in the first quarter gave Kansas City an early lead that could prove crucial in the Chiefs’ efforts to clinch the top spot in the AFC playoffs with a win over Pittsburgh to secure.

Stay tuned to see if Worthy can make his presence felt again this afternoon at Acrisure Stadium against the Steelers.
