‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Trailer Reveals Adam Sandler and Travis Kelce

Get ready to get back on the green!

Almost 30 years after Adam Sandler’s golf comedy Happy Gilmore became a cult classic, the beloved character makes a triumphant return in the Netflix sequel, Have fun with Gilmore 2.

By releasing the teaser trailer, the streaming giant gave fans a taste of the holidays on Christmas Day, and it’s full of nostalgia. Sandler returns as Happy, wearing his iconic hockey jersey and making a putt on the green like no time has passed.

But Sandler isn’t the only one driving the story forward. Kansas City Chiefs tight end – and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend – Travis Kelce makes his big screen debut in the film.

Kelce opens the teaser with the first lines and immediately grabs attention. Later in the clip, he is seen dressed as a member of the golf club where Happy plays, telling him, “It’s nice to have you back, Mr. Gilmore.” Really good!

The returning stars will be joined by an exciting array of newcomers to the franchise, including Grammy winner Bad Bunny, The substance Star Margaret Qualley, comedian and longtime Sandler collaborator Nick Swardson, Scott Mescudi (better known as rapper Kid Cudi) and Benny Safdie, who co-directed Sandler Unpolished gemstones.

Recently, Sandler remained tight-lipped about Eminem’s role in the series Happy Gilmore continued, but shared that the rapper, who he has known for years, delivered an unforgettable, hilarious performance in a single day of filming.

Excitement for the sequel has been growing since May, when Netflix officially announced the project. This followed Christopher McDonald – who famously played the smarmy shooter McGavin – hinting at his development during an interview in March 2024.

Sandler co-wrote the new film with Tim Herlihy, as he did the 1996 film.
