Fantasy football predictions for the RBs ahead of the Christmas showdown

The Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers meet in the first of two NFL Christmas games on Netflix. And the most exciting fantasy football position battle is already taking place between quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson.

However, there are other aspects that managers should pay close attention to. One of them is between running backs Najee Harris and Isiah Pacheco. Who wins and starts?

If everything goes as planned, this could be the second-to-last regular season game that Najee Harris will play for the Steelers. They hadn’t picked up his fifth-year option in the offseason because they believed Jaylen Warren would be a faster, more agile and more versatile successor.

Not helping Sportskeeda’s RB36 is that the Chiefs have consistently been the best anti-RB team in fantasy football. As of this writing, they have averaged just under 15 points allowed – the only one to do so.

And that performance is the result of a very underrated core – which includes defensive linemen Chris Jones, George Karlaftis and Michael Danna; linebackers Nic Bolton and Drue Tranquill; and defensemen Trent McDuffie, Justin Reid and Brian Cook. Defeating this group is a very big task for him.

With Clyde Edwards-Helaire gone, the Chiefs have managed to restructure their running back room. And Isiah Pacheco has a role: co-starring with returning Kareem Hunt.

Currently playing at RB27, he has been trying hard to regain the form that made him a near-thousand-yarder in each of his first two seasons. With only two games left, it obviously hasn’t worked as well as expected, and then there’s the issue of the Steelers’ 11th-ranked anti-RB defense.

Much has been said about the air defense unit, which consists of pass-rushing linebackers TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith and defensive backs Joey Porter Jr., DeShon Elliott and Minkah Fitzpatrick. However, credit also goes to guys like Cam Heyward, Patrick Queen and Elandon Roberts for their ability to stuff runs before they even get a yard out. And overcoming this group will be the key to a strong performance for him.

Who should I start between Nahjee Harris and Isiah Pacheco?

It’s a very close fight, but the Sportskeeda Start/Sit Optimizer thinks Pacheco’s chances are better here.

While he obviously wasn’t as productive as his counterpart, he was trustworthy and reliable in what some call the “little things” – short bursts that tire out opposing defenses even more and leave them vulnerable to explosive passing plays , which they find difficult to achieve Stop before it can even happen.
