“Suns reroute Bradley Beal from Heat in proposed blockbuster trade for Jimmy Butler”

“Suns reroute Bradley Beal from Heat in proposed blockbuster trade for Jimmy Butler”

With Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler favoring an exit from the organization before the trade deadline, suggestions will come to light more than ever.

The Phoenix Suns are one of the ideal landing spots for Butler, but the problem is the Heat’s return. Disappointing guard Bradley Beal, who has a no-trade clause, needs to be included in a potential deal somewhere. Miami’s front office is unlikely to have any interest in the 31-year-old.

However, there is a way out. Brett Siegel of Clutch Points suggested a blockbuster move that redirects Beal to the Detroit Pistons. The following trading idea does not involve exchange capital.

Suns received: Jimmy Butler

Heat reception: Brandon Ingram, Malik Beasley, Marcus Sasser

New Orleans Pelicans received: Tim Hardaway Jr., Isaiah Stewart, Cole Anthony, Gary Harris, Josh Richardson

Piston received: Bradley Beal, Jett Howard, Caleb Houstan

Orlando Magic receives: CJ McCollum, Daniel Theis

There are two teams that would accept their package immediately: the Magic and the Suns. This trade gives Orlando the reliable, experienced guard they were looking for alongside Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. Meanwhile, the Suns continue the Big Three strategy with a stronger No. 3 option.

The Pistons might want a player like Beal to simply mentor Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey, but that would throw a lot of wrench into their schedule. New Orleans is essentially taking back a variety of role players and is willing to part with a star.

Ingram, Beasley, Sasser and draft capital wouldn’t be a bad return for the 35-year-old forward. The only question is whether the Golden State Warriors or the Houston Rockets are willing to offer a larger package.
