Former G League player LiAngelo Ball is getting real about the future of basketball

LiAngelo Ball had two preseason stints with NBA teams (Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons).

However, he has never appeared in an NBA regular season game.

The 26-year-old recently appeared on Angel Reese’s podcast (Unapologetic angelh/t NBA headquarters).

He talked about his basketball future.

LiAngelo: “I want to get a call from the G League just so I can open the doors for them again… I’m going to wait a little longer for the G League.”

The former UCLA forward talked about still wanting to play with his brothers (Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball).

Additionally, Lonzo revealed that LiAngelo has received offers from overseas teams.

Lonzo: “He’s not going abroad… We’ve already made him great offers abroad, which he shot down… I wanted him to go abroad. He didn’t want to go abroad.”

He spent parts of two seasons in the G League with the Greensboro Swarm (the Charlotte Hornets’ affiliate).

In 19 Showcase Cup games, LiAngelo averaged 7.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 49.0% from the field and 44.1% from three-point range.

About the NBA G League on October 25th: “In 2021, LiAngelo Ball was the 14th overall pick in the G League Draft by @greensboroswarm. Ball spent two seasons in the G League. He dropped 22 PTS in his Swarm debut and then had 26 PTS in his first career start.”

Although it will be difficult for LiAngelo to make it to the NBA, he will be a name to keep an eye on this season.
