LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas – Just one day after Thanksgiving, chaos erupted at Park Plaza Mall when shots were fired, injuring two people.

Denise Hill heard the shots while she was shopping.

“You could hear the bang, bang, bang,” Hill said. “We heard someone say bomb, so we thought it was a bomb.”

Little Rock Police Department officials confirmed it was a shooting on the third floor of the mall.

“People started running, people coming out of stores wondering, ‘What’s going on?’ and like there were people walking around everywhere,” Hill said.

Dozens of shoppers were evacuated and witness Demi Moore said she hid in an H&M store.

“At H&M everyone was told to go downstairs and they have a back room and so they took us there and locked us up,” Moore said.

Moore said they remained in the room for about 45 minutes as she and others anxiously waited to leave.

“Some people were crying, some people weren’t saying anything, and then some people were asking staff for news,” Moore said.

It’s an experience Moore and other buyers hope to never experience again.
