Dense fog, freezing drizzle and rain are possible at the end of the week

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – Don’t expect to see the sun in northern and central Wisconsin for the next few days. The main cause will instead be fog, which may be dense in places, with the possibility of freezing drizzle and then some rain later in the week into the start of the weekend. There is an initial warning for fog overnight into Thursday, which could be dense, along with the possibility of freezing drizzle into Thursday morning. Another first warning is to have rain gear ready later on Friday as the weekend begins. Temperatures will remain above average until the end of the year. It’s getting a little cooler, the New Year is ringing in, but there are no big storms on the horizon.

Significant cloud cover on Christmas night and the first night of Hanukkah, with areas of fog forming overnight. Freezing drizzle is possible, causing slippery patches on untreated roads through Thursday morning. Lows will be in the upper 10s to low 20s.
