TODAY’S FORECAST

Skies will remain cloudy as temperatures will warm into the upper 70s this afternoon, with a slight chance of showers late this evening and overnight as the cold front approaches.

SERIOUS STORM DANGER

An approaching cold front from a system in Texas will allow for a possible few strong storms this evening into early Friday morning. The Storm Prediction Center has reported a slight (2/5) risk of severe weather extending from Dallas, TX to Lafayette, LA and a marginal (1/5) risk of thunderstorms producing hail, damaging winds and tornadoes can.

The main concern with these storms is that they will produce gusty winds and small hail early Friday morning.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK

Temperatures will continue to be well above normal in the final days of 2024. However, after the threat of storms on Friday and Saturday, temperatures will fall slightly into the low 70s and continue trending downward until 2025, when they will be back into the 60s with highs in the afternoon.
