“Ex-Eagles Pro Bowl wide receiver gets college head coaching job.”

Former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has been named head coach at Delaware State, according to multiple reports. Jackson follows in the footsteps of former Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, who took the head coaching position at Norfolk State last week.

Jackson was never a head coach at a college, but was the offensive coordinator at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California. That gave him the foundation to jump into the coaching world, and now he’ll head to the college level to help revitalize Delaware State.

They moved on from head coach Lee Hull, who had come to Delaware State just two years earlier. The Hornets finished 1-11 in 2024.

Jackson had a brilliant NFL career. He last played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2022, but is best known for his star-studded stint with the Eagles early in his career. A three-time Pro Bowler and All-American selection during his time at Cal, Jackson is one of the best deep-threat wide receivers of this century.
