Game notes

The Wizards are coming off consecutive double-digit losses to the Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder, the two finalists in this year’s NBA Cup. Before that, however, Washington was able to score a win against the very Charlotte team it will face on Thursday.

The Hornets are currently one of the few teams that are arguably in worse shape than the Wizards. The visitors have lost five times in a row and are 1-13 in their last 14 games.

Charlotte may again be without Brandon Miller, who is still dealing with an ankle injury. However, Washington could also be shorthanded, with Bilal Coulibaly, Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington all listed as questionable for the contest.

Sarr had one of the best games of his young career in the last duel between the two teams. He scored 19 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks in the 123-114 defeat.
