Seahawks vs. Bears score, live updates: Seattle needs a win to keep its playoff hopes alive in the final Thursday Night Football game of the year

The Seattle Seahawks are struggling after their loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16. The Seahawks now need two wins and the Rams must lose to the Cardinals this Sunday – the Rams win the division with a win over Arizona – for Seattle to clinch the NFC West crown. They’ll have to hold on Thursday night in Chicago as the Bears cap off a season full of changes that began with hype surrounding No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams and ends with uncertainty over who the club’s next coach will be.

Seahawks second-year receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is enjoying a breakout year and could be a big contributor to keeping Seattle in contention. He averaged 100 receiving yards per game in his last seven contests and scored five touchdowns in that span, with quarterback Geno Smith entering Week 17 ranked third in the NFL in passing yards. While the Bears were in a free fall, suffering nine straight losses, Williams did an excellent job protecting the ball during that time. Yes, his 60% completion rate leaves a little to be desired, but during the losing streak he threw 10 touchdowns and zero interceptions on 306 pass attempts.
