College football experts question the direction in the final minutes of Georgia’s comeback win over Georgia Tech

One of the best rivalry games of all time took place at Sanford Stadium on Friday night. Georgia came all the way back and teeed off Georgia Tech in the annual Clean, old-fashioned hate Game in 8OT – but it wasn’t without controversy.

Before the Bulldogs scored the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter, Carson Beck threw an incomplete pass that was intended Arian Smith. As he threw the ball, it appeared one of the offensive lineman caught a defender’s jersey, which some college football experts believe warranted a holding penalty.

However, the referees did not throw the flag. Two plays later, Georgia scored to tie the game and eventually force overtime.

However, this was not the only time the administration was questioned. There was an earlier play that helped get Georgia inside the 10-yard line Dominic Lovett drew a pass interference flag. However, it may not have been necessarily clear.

Another key play came in the fourth quarter, setting up Georgia’s final scoring drive. Dan Jackson made a big splash Haynes King and forced a fumble, giving the Bulldogs the ball back just before the two-minute timeout. As he went to attack the ball, he appeared to lower his head, leading to questions about whether an accuracy review was warranted.

Officers went to the monitor, but only to confirm that UGA was in possession and to check the time on the clock. There was no mention of a target review and the Bulldogs went under to score a game-winning touchdown.

It took eight overtimes, but Georgia finally held its own and earned a 44-42 victory over its in-state rival. In the final overtime, UGA held Georgia Tech out of the end zone, and Nate Frazier I smashed it in to – finally – seal it. The Bulldogs now have an easier path to get there College Football Playoffs and can secure a first-round bye against either of them in next week’s SEC Championship Texas or Texas A&M.
