Playboi Carti fans create website and threaten mass unfollowing over four-year album delay

Playboi Carti’s fans have expressed their frustration after waiting over four years for the rapper’s new album. To vent their displeasure, they created a website documenting all the unfulfilled album updates Carti has provided since 2020.

Wednesday (December 25) marked the four-year anniversary of Carti’s last album, Whole Lotta Red. Fans who have been eagerly awaiting new music since the album was first teased three months after WLR’s release can continue to expect delays. The upcoming album titled *Music* remains unreleased, adding to fans’ despair. The newly launched website tracks every instance over the past four years in which Carti failed to keep promised updates on songs and albums.

The site contains a detailed list of unfulfilled announcements, including the never-released deluxe album “Whole Lotta Red,” the unreleased single “Narcissist,” and claims from Carti’s DJ over a year ago that the album was finished. It also highlights several instances where Carti hinted at an upcoming LP but didn’t follow through.

To put pressure on the rapper, fans also organized a collective social media campaign. If Carti doesn’t release the album by the end of the year, they plan to unfollow him en masse on social media platforms.
